Find Your New Hampshire Rebates
Most of the programmes below are published under the NHSaves name. NHSaves
is a shared brand rather than a company: Eversource, Liberty Utilities, Unitil and the New
Hampshire Electric Cooperative publish jointly under it, on the electric side and the gas side,
and the programme that actually applies to you is your own utility’s — its form, its deadline,
its amount. Several NHSaves offers are not open to all of them, and the state’s five
municipal electric departments are not part of NHSaves at all, so the administrator
named on each card is the one whose rule counts.
Four electric utilities serve New Hampshire households and businesses — Eversource, Liberty
Utilities (Granite State Electric), Unitil Energy Systems and the New Hampshire Electric
Cooperative, which is member-owned — along with five municipal electric departments. Natural
gas is served by Liberty Utilities (EnergyNorth) and by Unitil’s Northern Utilities, which
means a customer can be a Liberty electric customer and not a Liberty gas customer, or the
other way round. Several of those utilities also run programmes of their own outside NHSaves,
under their own names. Beyond the utilities, this list includes programmes run by the New
Hampshire Department of Energy, the Department of Environmental Services, the Community
Development Finance Authority, the New England Heat Pump Accelerator, and equipment
manufacturers whose offers Liberty promotes.
Our ZIP map is built from each utility’s own published territory — Eversource’s New
Hampshire community list, Liberty’s and Unitil’s own town lists, the Cooperative’s filed
service area, and the municipal utilities in federal EIA-861 data — joined to ZIP codes through
the Census ZCTA-to-town file. For more than half of New Hampshire’s ZIP codes that still leaves
more than one possible utility, because New Hampshire’s boundaries follow town lines and not
postal ones. Your bill names which utility serves you, and knowing it is what the list below
turns on. Which utility serves you decides whose programme you are reading; it does not
decide whether you are eligible for it. Each programme sets its own rules, and the
administrator applies them.
Natural gas reaches a minority of the state. On our map, built from the two gas companies’
own town lists, most New Hampshire ZIP codes have no natural-gas service at all — so for much
of New Hampshire the gas programmes below will not apply, whatever the heating equipment. Your
gas company, if you have one, is named on your bill.
A few programmes on this list describe work at no cost to the customer. Every one of them
attaches that to a condition — income verified by the utility before work is scheduled, a
Community Action Agency’s determination, an account below a stated size, or the administrator’s
choice of what gets installed. The card states the condition the administrator publishes
alongside it. Read both together; the words “no cost” on their own do not tell you
what you would pay.
Timing is stated on each card as the administrator publishes it. In New Hampshire a large
share of these programmes run on a calendar-year window that closes in December, and several
are limited by funding as well as by a date — which means they can close when the money is
committed, whatever the calendar says. At least one offer on this list had its enhanced amount
expire while the programme itself stayed open, so the amount you find today may not be the
amount published here. Confirm with the administrator before you spend money or sign
anything.
The list below is every New Hampshire programme we hold. Twenty-one are for households,
twenty-five are for businesses, municipalities and other non-residential customers, and one is
open to both — so most of this list is not a household programme, and the
group headings say which is which. Each card carries the benefit as the administrator publishes
it, the timing as published, a link to the official programme page, and the date we last
checked it. We are a publisher, not an administrator: we do not decide eligibility, process
applications or pay anything, and listing a programme here is not a recommendation of it or of
any contractor. Confirm current amounts and eligibility with the administrator before you spend
money or sign anything. Some programmes also interact with federal or state tax provisions; we
do not give tax advice, and you should speak to a qualified tax professional about your own
situation — see our Federal Incentives page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which New Hampshire utility serves my address?
Four electric utilities serve most of the state — Eversource, Liberty Utilities (Granite
State Electric), Unitil Energy Systems and the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative — and five
towns and villages run their own electric departments. Natural gas comes from Liberty Utilities
(EnergyNorth) or Unitil’s Northern Utilities, where there is gas service at all. Boundaries
follow town lines rather than postal ones, so more than one utility is possible within a single
ZIP code and a postal address does not settle it. Your bill names which utility serves you. The
administrator named on each card below tells you whose programme you are reading.
What is NHSaves?
NHSaves is the shared brand for the energy-efficiency programmes published jointly by New
Hampshire’s four largest electric utilities and its two natural-gas utilities. There is no
NHSaves company to apply to: you apply to whichever utility bills you,
on that utility’s form, and that utility decides your application. Not every NHSaves offer is
open to every utility’s customers, which is why the card names its administrator.
My town runs its own electric department — is there anything here for me?
If your electricity comes from a town or village department — Littleton Water &
Light, Wolfeboro, Ashland, New Hampton or Woodsville — those utilities are not part of
NHSaves, and we hold no programme records for them. What does not depend on who bills you is
the handful of programmes administered at state level rather than by a utility: the Department
of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program, the Department of Environmental Services’
heating-oil tank assistance, and the New England Heat Pump Accelerator’s instant discounts.
Each of those sets its own rules — income and available funding among them — so read the card
and confirm with the administrator before you count on it. Ask your town’s electric department
directly whether it offers anything of its own.
Do these programmes have deadlines?
Each card states the timing as its administrator publishes it. A large share of these run on
a calendar-year window that closes in December, and several are limited by funding as well as
by a date, which means they can close once the money is committed regardless of the calendar.
Some are first-come, first-served and say so. Check the card, then confirm with the
administrator before you commit to anything.
Are business and municipal programmes included?
Yes, and they are the larger part of this page. Of the 47 programmes we hold for New
Hampshire, twenty-five are for businesses, municipalities and other non-residential customers,
twenty-one are for households, and one is open to both. The group headings below separate them,
so you can read only the section that applies to you.
How current is this?
Each card shows the date we last checked that programme against the administrator’s own
published page, and links to that page. Programmes change between our checks — amounts
are revised, funding runs out, and application windows open and close — so treat the card
as a pointer to the administrator’s page rather than a substitute for it, and confirm anything
you intend to act on.

Programs for homes
NHSaves 14 programs
Home Energy Performance — audits and weatherization
Estimated benefit: Up to $6,000 incentives; $100 audit fee credited toward completed work
Timing: Start with Home Heating Index screening; audit and approved scope determine the work. Confirm current program availability with utility.
“eligible for up to $6,000 in incentives”
“$500 value offered ... for just $100.”
Our energy expert: Start with the Home Heating Index screening, then have the approved contractor identify the weatherization work your home qualifies for. The linked brochure prices the audit at $100, credited toward the project if you complete recommended work; the incentive does not mean every project cost is covered. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Contact your NHSaves utility directly to confirm current program status, incentive levels, and application procedures before signing a contract or purchasing equipment. Pre-approval may be required before work begins; retroactive applications may not be accepted.
Increased Benefits for Income Qualifying Eversource Customers
Estimated benefit: For Eversource households with income at or below 100% of New Hampshire State Median Income: eligible approved services at no cost. Eversource verifies income before work is scheduled.
Timing: Submit income verification to begin contractor assessment; current intake availability and income-table effective date require confirmation.
““If you are an Eversource customer and your household income falls at or below 100 percent of the State Median Income”; “Eligible customers can receive no-cost services” including air sealing, insulation, HVAC/water heating and select products”
Our energy expert: If you are an Eversource customer, household income can change the cost of the approved work substantially. This enhanced offer uses a limit of 100% of New Hampshire State Median Income; submit income verification before the approved contractor schedules your audit. Eligibility is subject to income verification, household size, and funding availability. Benefit levels are set annually and may differ from amounts shown. Contact Eversource directly to determine current benefit levels, eligibility, and application procedures.
Home Energy Assistance — income-eligible weatherization
Estimated benefit: For income-eligible households: 100% of eligible weatherization and inefficient-equipment replacement costs. Your Community Action Agency decides eligibility and what work is done.
Timing: Contact county Community Action Agency to determine eligibility and scheduling; current intake timing requires CAA confirmation.
“cover 100% of the cost to weatherize your home or apartment and replace inefficient equipment.”
Our energy expert: For an income-eligible homeowner or renter, the starting point is the Community Action Agency that serves your county. It determines household eligibility and the weatherization or equipment work the program can provide at no cost. Eligibility is subject to income verification, household size, and funding availability. Benefit levels are set annually and may differ from amounts shown. Contact your local Community Action Agency directly to determine current benefit levels, eligibility, and application procedures.
Residential Air Source Heat Pumps and Central Air Conditioning
Estimated benefit: Heat pumps $250/ton base; qualifying resistance replacement $2,000/ton (Eversource/Liberty/Unitil: five-ton cap; NHEC: separate 80%-load criteria). NHEC whole-house and HEP bonuses $250/ton each where eligible. AC $70/ton; eligible Wi-Fi thermostat $85.
Timing: Eversource/Liberty/Unitil: purchase/install by Dec 31, 2026; postmark by Jan 30, 2027. NHEC complete applications by Dec 31, 2026 or funds exhausted.
“Form p.2: “$250 per ton”; electric-resistance replacement “$2,000 per ton” March 23–December 31, 2026; limit 5 tons for Eversource/Liberty/Unitil”
Our energy expert: Replacing electric resistance heat follows a different incentive path from a standard heat-pump installation. Have your HVAC contractor verify the existing system, qualifying model and rebate route before you commit; NHEC uses its own application and separate whole-home and Home Energy Performance bonuses.
Heat Pump Water Heater
Estimated benefit: $900 per qualifying unit up to 85 gallons
Timing: Purchase Jan 1–Dec 31, 2026; online or postmarked submission by Jan 31, 2027; funding limits apply.
“Form p.2: heat pump water heater “up to 85” gallons; “$900””
Our energy expert: Check the exact model and efficiency rating before buying a heat pump water heater for your home. A qualifying unit may receive the rebate through the purchase process or an application, but a unit already discounted through the instant offer cannot receive the same rebate again.
Natural Gas Thermostats
Estimated benefit: $25 programmable; $85 wireless-enabled; capped at purchase price
Timing: Purchases Jan 1–Dec 31, 2026; latest PDF requires receipt by Jan 31, 2027.
“Form p.2: “Up to $25 Programmable Thermostat Rebate”; “Up to $85 Wireless-Enabled Thermostat Rebate”; “Limit two (2) rebates per account per calendar year””
Our energy expert: This offer is for Liberty or Unitil residential natural-gas heating customers. Choose a qualifying thermostat and submit the application promptly: the current form and webpage give different filing instructions, and additional units beyond the normal two-rebate limit require pre-approval.
Refrigerator and Freezer Recycling
Estimated benefit: $150 per refrigerator/freezer plus $50 per eligible AC/dehumidifier collected at same visit; no-cost pickup
Timing: Enhanced rate applies pickups Apr 1–Dec 31, 2026; allow 6–8 weeks for processing.
“Refrigerator form p.1 recycling panel: “Recycle a working refrigerator and/or freezer ... receive a $150 rebate per unit”; AC/dehumidifier pickup “$50 rebate per unit when picked up with your refrigerator and/or freezer.” Webpage gives Apr 1–Dec 31, 2026 rate period”
Our energy expert: Arrange pickup while the refrigerator or freezer is still working; ownership, size and the utility service address determine eligibility. An eligible room air conditioner or dehumidifier earns the additional payment only when collected with a refrigerator or freezer, and the enhanced pickup offer ends December 31, 2026.
Clothes Washers, Dryers and Combination Units
Estimated benefit: ENERGY STAR washer $150; Most Efficient washer $245. Electric dryer $40; hybrid heat-pump dryer $150; heat-pump dryer $260. Listed combination washer-dryer models $190/$410/$505 per QPL.
Timing: Current enhanced amounts for purchases Apr 6–Dec 31, 2026; online/postmark by Jan 31, 2027.
“Form p.2 updated column: washer $150, Most Efficient washer $245; electric dryer $40, hybrid heat-pump dryer $150, heat-pump dryer $260. Combination QPL p.1: $190/$410/$505 by listed model”
Our energy expert: The exact appliance type and model determine the residential rebate, particularly for heat-pump dryers and combination washer-dryers. Check the current qualifying-products list before buying and keep the purchase documentation; an ENERGY STAR label alone does not establish which rebate tier applies.
Refrigerators, Small Appliances, Pool Pumps and Advanced Power Strips
Estimated benefit: Refrigerators $40/$50; dehumidifiers $25; room AC $20; air purifiers $80; variable-speed pool pumps $350; power strips $8/$40
Timing: 2026 purchases; equipment mail/online submission Jan 31, 2027. Air-purifier $80 rate starts Apr 6, 2026. Marketplace strip purchases by Dec 31, 2026.
“Small-appliance form p.2 updated amounts: $25 dehumidifier, $20 room AC, $80 air purifier; refrigerator form p.2 $40/$50; pool form p.2 $350. Power-strip page $8 tier I/$40 tier II”
Our energy expert: Each residential appliance category has its own efficiency criteria, quantity limit and application requirements. Check the model against the relevant form before purchase; advanced power strips use the NHSaves marketplace, while pool pumps and household appliances follow their own rebate forms.
Natural Gas Heating, Boiler Controls and Heat Recovery Ventilation
Estimated benefit: Furnaces $300 (≥95% AFUE)/$450 (≥97%); Liberty boilers $1,000–$1,500; Unitil boilers $1,000; boiler reset control $225; heat-recovery ventilator $500
Timing: Install Jan 1–Dec 31, 2026; application received by Jan 31, 2027.
“Liberty form p.4 boilers/combi: ≥90% AFUE $1,000, ≥95% $1,500. Unitil p.4 boilers/combi ≥95% AFUE $1,000”
Our energy expert: Your gas utility changes the boiler incentive: Liberty and Unitil use different 2026 equipment schedules. Have a licensed heating contractor match the furnace or boiler efficiency and installation requirements to your own utility form before ordering.
Natural Gas Water Heaters
Estimated benefit: Liberty $100–$500 by type; Unitil $500 qualifying tankless
Timing: Install Jan 1–Dec 31, 2026; application received by Jan 31, 2027.
“Liberty p.4: tankless ≥0.87 UEF $500; storage medium-draw ≥0.64/high-draw ≥0.68 $100; condensing ≥0.80 UEF $500; indirect $400. Unitil p.4 tankless ≥0.87 UEF $500”
Our energy expert: Liberty and Unitil do not offer the same residential gas-water-heating choices. Unitil’s current form lists qualifying tankless equipment; Liberty’s form also includes specified storage, condensing and indirect models, so have your licensed contractor check the applicable form before selecting a system.
ENERGY STAR Homes — Single-Family and Multifamily New Construction
Estimated benefit: Up to $10,000 single-family; $4,000 condo/townhome; $1,500 multifamily; additional certification bonuses $500/$250/$250
Timing: Approved enrollment before construction; move-in-ready completion and required HERS documents by Dec 31, 2026; documents within four weeks of final inspection.
“2026 incentive table p.2 maximums $10,000/$4,000/$1,500 plus ENERGY STAR certification bonuses; HERS rating/testing no cost, valued at $2,000”
Our energy expert: Bring the utility and home-energy rater into a new home or complete gut-renovation project before construction starts. Required inspections and HERS documentation govern the incentive, and the new-construction package cannot be combined with separate prescriptive HVAC, water-heating or appliance rebates for the same project.
AC and Dehumidifier Turn-In Events
Estimated benefit: $50 per working room air conditioner or dehumidifier; up to two of each per account per year
Timing: NHSaves listed turn-in events through 24 October 2026 when checked on 3 October 2026. Check NHSaves for upcoming events before transporting equipment. Allow 6–8 weeks for the rebate.
“Form p.1: “$50 per unit”; maximum “two (2) room air conditioner rebates and two (2) dehumidifier rebates per residential electric account per calendar year.””
Our energy expert: A working room air conditioner or dehumidifier can earn $50 at a participating turn-in event, subject to the annual quantity limits. Check the event location and date before transporting the equipment; this route differs from the additional payment available with a scheduled refrigerator pickup.
ConnectedSolutions / Connected Rewards — residential thermostats
Estimated benefit: $50 enrollment per eligible thermostat; annual reward $20 Eversource/Unitil or $25 Liberty
Timing: 2026 summer event season ended September 30; enrollment pages remain live. Confirm future-season terms with utility.
“Liberty page: “$50 ... for each thermostat” and “$25 ... for each thermostat ... each year”; Unitil page $50 enrollment and $20 annual; Eversource enrollment page residential $50/$20”
Our energy expert: An eligible thermostat can earn an enrollment reward and an annual participation reward in exchange for allowing event adjustments. Eversource, Liberty and Unitil have different annual amounts, so confirm the model, account eligibility and participation rules for your utility before enrolling.
Eversource Energy New Hampshire 1 program
ConnectedSolutions Home Battery Demand Response — NH
Estimated benefit: $225 per average kW for the summer season, calculated from average event performance.
Timing: Summer season June 1–September 30; 30–60 events, generally 2–3 hours during 3–8 p.m.
““Incentives for home batteries are based on the average kilowatt (kW) used per event, averaged over the season.” Table: incentive per average kW used $225”
Our energy expert: The seasonal payment depends on your battery’s average power contribution during dispatched events, rather than its nameplate storage capacity. When checked on 3 October 2026, Eversource’s NH page listed Tesla for enrollment; confirm your model, enrollment window and agreement before relying on projected revenue. This performance-payment route has different terms from the Clean Energy Fund upfront battery incentive. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Contact Eversource directly to confirm current program status, incentive levels, and application procedures before signing a contract or purchasing equipment. Pre-approval may be required before work begins; retroactive applications may not be accepted.
Liberty New Hampshire 1 program
Liberty residential direct installation — electric and gas tracks
Estimated benefit: For eligible Liberty customers: selected efficiency devices and installation at no cost. Electric and gas customers have separate requirements.
Timing: First-come while funding is available; schedule with program implementer.
“Gas Visual Audit page: “free” technician visit, Wi-Fi thermostats, showerheads/aerators and hot-water turndown. Electric direct-install page: “zero-cost” Nest Learning thermostats and selected efficiency devices”
Our energy expert: Liberty's pages describe a no-cost technician visit and selected efficiency devices for eligible customers; Liberty decides eligibility and which devices are installed. Electric and gas customers use different assessment routes and equipment rules; arrange the appropriate visit with Liberty before purchasing devices independently. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Contact Liberty directly to confirm current program status, incentive levels, and application procedures before signing a contract or purchasing equipment. Pre-approval may be required before work begins; retroactive applications may not be accepted.
New Hampshire Electric Cooperative 1 program
Residential Off-Peak Level 2 EV Charger Rebate
Estimated benefit: $300 per charger; maximum $600 per property, capped at eligible charger/secondary-meter-socket installation cost.
Timing: Preapproval before installation; all requirements and documents due December 31 2026.
“Image table: “$300 Per Charger, with a maximum of $600 per property.” — NHEC 2026 Residential Off Peak EV Charging Station Terms & Conditions; PDF p. 1; retrieved 2026-10-03; archive”
Our energy expert: This residential charger rebate requires NHEC’s off-peak EV rate and advance approval of the installation. Discuss the secondary meter arrangement and eligible installation costs with NHEC before work; the property limit covers up to two qualifying chargers, with requirements and documentation due December 31, 2026. Program availability, eligible vehicle lists, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Confirm current eligibility and program status before purchasing a vehicle or installing charging equipment. Not all vehicles or charging equipment qualify; confirm the specific make, model, and equipment type with NHEC.

New Hampshire Home Battery Storage Incentive — Eversource New Hampshire / New Hampshire Clean Energy Fund
Estimated benefit: $230 per eligible kWh, up to $3,000, as an upfront incentive.
Timing: Funding limited; reserve funds through installer/manufacturer and enroll after installation.
““For each eligible kWh you will receive $230, up to a maximum of $3,000.” — retrieved 2026-10-03; web snapshot noted in sources. Web source archive:”
Our energy expert: For an Eversource New Hampshire home, battery eligibility includes the approved model, interconnection permission and enrollment in demand response. Have the installer reserve funding and explain the three-year participation commitment; this offer provides an upfront incentive without annual performance payments. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Contact Eversource directly to confirm current program status, incentive levels, and application procedures before signing a contract or purchasing equipment. Pre-approval may be required before work begins; retroactive applications may not be accepted.
Weatherization Assistance Program — New Hampshire Department of Energy
Estimated benefit: Energy audit and qualifying efficiency improvements selected for the home; value depends on the approved work scope.
Timing: Eligible applicants enter a waiting list; work scheduled by priority and available funding.
““This ceiling on the allowable annual job cost average”. The manual defines ACPU as an annual production-budget average, not a household award. — NH Weatherization Assistance Program Policies and Procedures Manual; PDF p. 53; retrieved 2026-10-03; archive Web source archive:”
Our energy expert: For an eligible homeowner or renter, the home energy audit determines which weatherization measures can be provided. Your Community Action Agency coordinates eligibility, the approved work and scheduling, with priority and funding affecting the waiting time. Eligibility is subject to income verification, household size, and funding availability. Benefit levels are set annually and may differ from amounts shown. Contact your local Community Action Agency directly to determine current benefit levels, eligibility, and application procedures.
SAFETANK Financial Assistance — New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services
Estimated benefit: Up to $4,000 for aboveground heating-oil tank upgrade/removal and replacement; up to $4,500 for underground tank removal.
Timing: Apply and obtain approval before work; subject to program review.
““$4,000” / “$4,500” SAFETANK assistance limits”
Our energy expert: This assistance addresses a substandard home heating-oil tank; it does not establish that the work will reduce energy use. Obtain NHDES approval before having a qualified tank contractor begin, and confirm the income rules because the current application could not be retrieved for this collection. Payment usually goes directly to the contractor. Eligibility is subject to income verification, household size, and funding availability. Benefit levels are set annually and may differ from amounts shown. Contact the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services directly to determine current benefit levels, eligibility, and application procedures.
New England Heat Pump Accelerator — instant residential discounts — New England Heat Pump Accelerator / VEIC
Estimated benefit: $650 per qualifying air-source heat-pump outdoor unit; $750 air-to-water/geothermal unit; $300 heat-pump water heater
Timing: The program was live when checked on 3 October 2026; confirm the qualifying model and a participating distributor before your contractor buys.
Our energy expert: The discount is applied through a participating contractor or distributor and depends on the exact qualifying heat-pump model. Ask your contractor to identify the Accelerator discount separately on the proposal and confirm any combination with utility incentives; statewide availability does not remove equipment, dwelling or quantity limits. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Confirm current requirements with the New England Heat Pump Accelerator and your participating contractor before signing a contract or purchasing equipment.
Programs for businesses
NHSaves 19 programs
No-Cost Energy Assessments — Commercial and Municipal
Estimated benefit: No-cost walk-through energy assessment for eligible small-business and municipal customers. The electric flyer limits it to accounts below 200 kW; larger and gas accounts should ask their utility.
Timing: Contact utility to request an assessment; availability subject to program funding.
“Electric flyer p.2: “No-cost walk-through energy assessments are available to Small Business and Municipal customers”; program page includes natural gas customers”
Our energy expert: For a small business or municipality, a walk-through assessment can identify which equipment programs fit the property before you pay for a detailed study. The electric flyer limits its no-cost offer to municipalities and businesses below 200 kW; larger businesses and natural-gas customers need their utility to confirm the appropriate assessment route.
Natural Gas Technical Assistance and Engineering Services
Estimated benefit: Typically up to 50% of approved engineering study cost, capped at $10,000
Timing: Utility pre-approval required before study; agreement sets project schedule and cost share.
“Gas flyer p.1: “fund as much as 50% ... engineering study (up to $10,000)”; must be pre-approved”
Our energy expert: A proposed gas-saving project may need an engineering study before the utility can evaluate the incentive. Liberty or Unitil must approve the study and cost sharing first, and your agreed share remains payable even if you do not proceed with the equipment project.
Electric Technical Assistance and Engineering Services
Estimated benefit: Utility contribution set in approved engineering study agreement
Timing: Utility pre-approval required before study; agreement sets project schedule and contributions.
“Engineering application p.3 records customer, utility and other shares; total incentive plus other funding “cannot exceed the total engineering cost.””
Our energy expert: For a complex electric-efficiency project, have the utility approve the study scope and its contribution before commissioning the engineering work. The agreement sets the customer and utility shares; a cost-share figure from the gas program does not establish what an electric study will receive.
Commercial Lighting and Controls — application-based rebates
Estimated benefit: Retrofit examples: $5/tube; $60 interior/linear fixture; $125 low-bay; $175 high-bay; controls $15–$55 each
Timing: Obtain utility pre-approval before installation; complete by utility offer Valid Through date.
“Retrofit application pp.3–8 lists per-fixture/control incentives; p.9 requires pre-approval. New-equipment application pp.2–3 calculates utility-approved incentive from annual kWh savings”
Our energy expert: An existing-building retrofit and a new-equipment project use different application schedules. Have your lighting professional identify the correct fixtures, controls and utility approval requirements before ordering; a unit purchased through the separate instant distributor offer cannot receive a duplicate application-based rebate.
Small Business and Municipal Direct Install
Estimated benefit: Utility-contracted assessment, scope and financial analysis; incentive set by approved project
Timing: Contact utility for contracted-vendor assessment; proposed project submitted for utility approval before work.
“Lighting page: contractor will “audit your facility, develop the comprehensive scope ... prepare the financial analysis ... submit the project for utility approval.””
Our energy expert: This is a way for a small business or municipality to have a utility-contracted vendor assess the facility, prepare a scope and carry the project through utility approval. Review the customer contribution in that proposal before authorizing work; the delivery service is not a second rebate to add to the underlying equipment incentive.
Natural Gas Custom Projects
Estimated benefit: Retrofit: lesser of 35% installed cost or buy-down to 1-year payback; new equipment: lesser of 75% incremental cost or buy-down to 1-year payback
Timing: Utility signed and dated pre-approval required before installation; offer specifies Valid Through date.
“Retrofit p.3: “lesser of 35% of the total installed cost or buy down to 1 year pay-back”; new equipment p.3: “lesser of 75% ... incremental equipment cost””
Our energy expert: Custom applies when your gas-saving project does not fit a prescriptive equipment form, and the engineering analysis helps determine the approved incentive. The current application and gas webpage disagree on the retrofit cap, so have Liberty or Unitil issue a written offer before purchase or installation.
Electric Custom Projects
Estimated benefit: Retrofit: lesser of 35% installed cost or buy-down to 1-year payback; new equipment: lesser of 75% incremental cost or buy-down to 1-year payback
Timing: Utility signed and dated pre-approval required before installation; offer specifies Valid Through date.
“Retrofit p.3: “lesser of 35% of the total installed cost or buy down to 1 year pay-back”; new equipment p.3: “lesser of 75% ... incremental equipment cost””
Our energy expert: A retrofit and a new-equipment project use different cost bases and caps, even when both qualify for custom electric incentives. The utility requires documented savings and its written approval before you commit to equipment; the maximum percentage is a limit, not an expected payment.
Commercial Natural Gas Space Heating
Estimated benefit: Boilers $1,000–$10,000; furnaces $300/$450; infrared and condensing unit heaters $750; combination units $1,000/$1,500
Timing: Purchase/install Jan 1–Dec 31, 2026. Definitive form p.3 requires all information received by Dec 31, 2026; the webpage says 31 January 2027. The two sources conflict, so submit by the earlier date.
“Form p.1 boiler bins: ≤300 MBH ≥90% AFUE $1,000 or ≥95% $1,500; 301–499 $2,000; 500–999 $4,000; 1000–1700 $7,500; 1701–2500 $10,000 (larger bins ≥90% thermal)”
Our energy expert: Boiler size and rated efficiency determine the commercial rebate tier, while larger projects may need advance funding approval. Have your licensed contractor use the Liberty or Unitil commercial form and submit promptly: its December 31, 2026 receipt deadline is earlier than the date on the webpage.
Commercial Natural Gas Controls, Water Heating and Steam Traps
Estimated benefit: Controls $25/$85/$225; steam traps $50; water heaters $1–$2/MBtuh or $200/unit
Timing: Purchase/install Jan 1–Dec 31, 2026. Definitive form p.3 requires all information received by Dec 31, 2026; the webpage says 31 January 2027. The two sources conflict, so submit by the earlier date.
“Form p.1: programmable thermostat $25; wireless $85; boiler reset $225; steam trap $50. Condensing/volume DHW $2/MBtuh, tankless $1/MBtuh, indirect $200/unit”
Our energy expert: Controls, steam traps and water heaters use different commercial gas rebate units and equipment requirements. Have your contractor match each item to the form, distinguish a steam-trap survey from a per-trap rebate, and plan around the form’s December 31, 2026 receipt deadline while the later webpage date is reconciled.
Commercial Natural Gas Food Service Equipment
Estimated benefit: Mail-in: $50–$3,000 by equipment; e.g. $1,000 ovens/fryers/steamers, $500 griddle
Timing: Purchase/install and complete submission by Dec 31, 2026 per application p.3; first come while funds available.
“Form p.1: conveyor broiler $2,000(<22in)/$2,500(22–28in)/$3,000(>28in); underfired broiler $650; pre-rinse spray valve $50; qualifying oven/fryer/steamer $1,000”
Our energy expert: Check the equipment model and purchasing route before replacing commercial gas kitchen equipment. A distributor discount and a mail-in rebate are alternative routes for the same item, and a vendor sales incentive is not a payment to your business.
Commercial New Construction High Performance Buildings
Estimated benefit: Net-zero: construction up to $1.50/sqft +$1.00/sqft after performance period; certification $3,000. High-performance custom $0.40/kWh or $2/therm.
Timing: Engage utility during planning/design; amounts subject to funding, utility approval and project-specific requirements.
“Net-zero guide p.2: construction Tier1 $1.50/sf, postoccupancy $1/sf after one year, certification $3,000; high-performance guide p.2 visually reads $0.40/kWh and $2/therm”
Our energy expert: Bring the utility into commercial new construction or a major renovation during design, when the project can still qualify for the appropriate whole-building pathway. Floor area, energy-performance targets, modeling and post-occupancy verification change both the incentive and the work required; have the design team obtain the current pathway offer before committing to a budget.
Electric Prescriptive Equipment — HVAC, Chillers, Compressed Air, VFDs and Lab Cold Storage
Estimated benefit: Mail-in HVAC $50–$250/ton; chillers $10–$20/ton base plus performance; VFDs $800–$1,575; lab cold storage $600–$2,000
Timing: Utility preapproval before purchase/installation for application-based projects. Lab cold-storage instant incentive reservation rules differ.
Our energy expert: For commercial electric equipment, capacity, efficiency and application determine whether the project fits a prescriptive form or requires custom review. Have your contractor identify the correct schedule before purchase and check whether the equipment already carries an instant distributor discount, which cannot be claimed again as a second rebate.
Multifamily Buildings on Commercial Natural Gas Rates
Estimated benefit: Measure-based commercial rebates and custom incentives; e.g. thermostats $25/$85, boiler reset $225, steam trap $50
Timing: Underlying equipment/custom deadlines apply; obtain utility approval before committing project. Gas prescriptive form requires receipt Dec 31, 2026; web conflicts Jan 31, 2027.
“Gas flyer p.2: energy audits and financial incentives for “multi-family facilities on qualifying commercial rates”; qualifying measures space/water heating, steam, insulation, controls and water-saving devices”
Our energy expert: For a multifamily property, the qualifying commercial gas rate is what opens this route. Have the property’s energy professional work through the applicable Liberty or Unitil commercial equipment and custom programs; this multifamily pathway does not add another rebate for the same measure.
Commercial electric kitchen equipment — mail-in rebates
Estimated benefit: Examples: convection oven $500; combination oven $2,000; steamer $1,000; griddle $400; eligible refrigeration $100–$250
Timing: Purchase/install during 2026 and submit complete application/receipt by Dec 31, 2026; preapproval for more than 10 units or more than $10,000 incentives.
Our energy expert: This mail-in route covers qualifying electric kitchen equipment for Liberty or Unitil commercial and municipal accounts. Have the equipment supplier check the model, quantity and application deadline before purchase, and confirm that the same unit is not already receiving an instant distributor discount.
Commercial foodservice equipment — instant distributor discounts
Estimated benefit: Qualifying equipment discounts $100–$3,000 per unit; amounts depend on equipment and fuel
Timing: 2026 customer flyer currently linked; obtain distributor eligibility and availability before purchase.
Our energy expert: The distributor applies a discount to qualifying commercial kitchen equipment, with the amount depending on the equipment and fuel. Confirm the utility account, model and invoice treatment before ordering; a manufacturer or vendor sales payment is not an additional customer rebate.
Commercial HVAC and water heating — instant distributor discounts
Estimated benefit: ASHP/VRF $250/ton; water/ground-source HP $80/ton; AC $50–$70/ton; HPWH $1,000–$2,200; Eversource/NHEC/Unitil PTHP $500
Timing: General HVAC preapproval for 10+ units or $8,000+ incentives. Enhanced PTHP window Apr 1–Dec 31, 2026; verify model/utility and purchase reservation before sale.
Our energy expert: An instant distributor discount can reduce the purchase price of qualifying commercial heating, cooling or water-heating equipment. Have the mechanical contractor confirm the model, size and participating utility for each measure; the packaged-terminal heat-pump offer has narrower utility eligibility than the broader equipment program.
Commercial natural-gas steam-trap surveys and repairs
Estimated benefit: 50% of preapproved survey cost; up to 100% after qualifying timely repairs; repairs up to 50%
Timing: 30-day customer commitment and completion of all cost-effective repairs/replacements within 90 days of survey for potential full survey reimbursement.
Our energy expert: Utility approval is required before the survey, and completing qualifying repairs within the required period can change the reimbursable share. Have Liberty or Unitil confirm the survey scope, repair commitment and deadlines in writing; the survey reimbursement and individual trap-replacement incentive have different rules.
Commercial midstream lighting — instant distributor discounts
Estimated benefit: Instant qualified-lighting discounts; current amount requires confirmation after October1 schedule expiry
Timing: The enhanced rate table ended 1 October 2026. The program page and distributor route were still live when checked on 3 October 2026; get the current approved discount from the distributor before you buy.
Our energy expert: This distributor route serves qualifying Eversource, NHEC and Unitil commercial accounts. The linked enhanced incentive schedule ended October 1, 2026, so have the distributor and utility confirm the current discount before placing an order; an expired table cannot establish today’s purchase price.
Municipal Efficiency — including Oil and Propane
Estimated benefit: Oil/propane heating: furnaces $300/$450; boilers $1,000–$10,000; selected water heaters $400–$1,000
Timing: Complete form steps 1–3 for utility preapproval; utility offer sets Valid Through date. Funding subject to availability.
Our energy expert: For a municipal building heated with oil or propane, use the municipal equipment schedule rather than the commercial natural-gas form. Have the utility review the facility’s heating fuel, equipment efficiency and project scope before purchase; the same equipment cannot earn duplicate incentives through multiple pathways.
Eversource Energy New Hampshire 2 programs
NH Clean Energy Fund Small Business Battery Storage

Timing: Applications are ongoing, subject to program terms and availability.
“The program will cover 25% of the cost of installing a battery up to a maximum of $100,000.”
Our energy expert: An approved battery project may receive 25% of installed cost, subject to the $100,000 cap and available funding. Have your installer reserve funds and explain the three-year demand-response commitment before ordering equipment; the approved model and interconnection requirements are part of eligibility. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Contact Eversource directly to confirm current program status, incentive levels, and application procedures before signing a contract or purchasing equipment. Pre-approval may be required before work begins; retroactive applications may not be accepted.

Our energy expert: A municipal battery serving an emergency shelter or response center may qualify for up to half of project cost, capped at $200,000. Have the project engineer confirm the required controls integration, interconnection and demand-response commitment with Eversource before procurement. Any financing for the remaining cost must be repaid.
Liberty commercial heat-pump bonus — fall2026
Estimated benefit: $750 per qualifying ton, up to $10,000 per customer
Timing: Application by 31 October 2026; installation by 30 November 2026; post-inspection within 30 days of installation; first come, subject to funding.
“Application p.1: “$750 per ton”; “maximum incentive of $10,000”; “Submit application by October 31, 2026”; “Install ... by November 30, 2026””
Our energy expert: Liberty's fall 2026 application, as published when checked on 3 October 2026, offered $750 per qualifying ton, capped at $10,000 per customer, for applications submitted by October 31, 2026 and installations completed by November 30, 2026. If those dates have passed, ask Liberty whether the offer was extended before relying on it. Do not add the base heat-pump rebate or another NHSaves equipment incentive to this offer.
Commercial and Municipal EV Charging Incentive
Estimated benefit: 75% of installed cost up to $2,500 per charger; maximum $5,000 for 2 chargers per property.
Timing: Preapproval before installation; all documentation due December 31 2026.
“Image table: “75% of the installed cost of up to $2,500 per charger or a maximum $5,000 for two chargers per property.” — NHEC 2026 Commercial & Municipal EV Charging Station Terms & Conditions; PDF p. 1; retrieved 2026-10-03; archive”
Our energy expert: Have NHEC approve the commercial or municipal charging project before installation, then match the charger and connector requirements to its current terms. The incentive is limited by both eligible installed cost and the per-property cap, and complete documentation is due December 31, 2026.

Small Business Energy Audit Fund — NH Community Development Finance Authority
Estimated benefit: Grant covers 75% of an approved comprehensive energy audit; customer pays 25%.
Timing: Applications accepted throughout year, first-come first-served while funds remain.
““Energy auditor invoice noting 75% grant amount and 25% customer co-pay.” — Small Business Energy Audit Fund Application and Program Guide; PDF p. 4; retrieved 2026-10-03; archive”
Our energy expert: For a qualifying rural small business or agricultural producer, this grant can help pay for a comprehensive energy audit before equipment decisions are made. Discuss the project with CDFA and obtain the required audit proposal; the agricultural-producer route has different rural-location requirements, and an applicant contribution remains. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Contact CDFA directly to confirm current program status, incentive levels, and application procedures before commissioning the audit or beginning work.
LMI Solar Grant & Loan Program — New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority
Estimated benefit: Grant request $20,000–$150,000; 25% of eligible costs for 51% to under 75% LMI beneficiaries, or 40% for at least 75% LMI beneficiaries. Optional coordinated loan $30,000–$500,000.
Timing: 2026 applications first come, first served until funds expended; mandatory pre-application consultation.
“51% to less than 75%”
“25%”
“75% or greater”
“40%”
Our energy expert: The share of qualifying low-income beneficiaries determines whether the grant can cover 25% or 40% of eligible project costs. The project must also pass a portion of its avoided electric cost to those beneficiaries for ten years. Arrange the required consultation with CDFA before preparing an application; any optional loan is a separate repayment obligation. Eligibility depends on the project, the share of qualifying low- and moderate-income beneficiaries, CDFA's review and funding availability. Benefit levels are set annually and may differ from amounts shown. Contact CDFA directly to determine current benefit levels, eligibility, and application procedures.

Liberty customer manufacturer offers — eligible efficiency products — Participating manufacturers; promoted by Liberty
Estimated benefit: Selected Rinnai heating/water-heating equipment $50–$100; AquaMotion recirculator $20 plus free shipping; listed Honeywell air purifiers 10% off
Timing: Rinnai buy by Dec 31, 2026, install by Jan 15, 2027, submit by Feb 15, 2027. AquaMotion purchase 2026; the AquaMotion flyer’s listed prices were dated to 1 April 2026; confirm the current price. Honeywell ends Dec 31, 2026.
Our energy expert: These manufacturer offers apply to selected models and use their own claim or discount procedures. Check the model, dates and Liberty customer requirement directly against the relevant manufacturer form before buying, and ask the supplier to distinguish a customer discount from any contractor sales incentive. Program availability, incentive amounts, and eligibility requirements are subject to change. Contact Liberty directly to confirm current program status, incentive levels, and application procedures before signing a contract or purchasing equipment. Pre-approval may be required before work begins; retroactive applications may not be accepted.
