Federal Incentive Status (2026)
Several federal residential and commercial energy incentive provisions were terminated under the One Big Beautiful Budget Act (OBBBA) signed in 2025. State and utility programs covered on these pages are unaffected. The following federal provisions remain active as of 2026: Section 48E ITC (battery storage, CHP, fuel cells — 30% credit through 2034) and Section 168 bonus depreciation (100% first-year expensing, now permanent). Terminated: 25C residential efficiency credit, 179D commercial buildings deduction, federal EV credits 30D/25E/45W.
